New Nissan Qashqai Turbo enters Hong Kong

HONG KONG – Nissan and Honest Motors Ltd. today launched the new Nissan Qashqai Turbo in Hong Kong. The latest version of Europe's best-selling crossover is available from 25 Oct 2019.

Customers can enjoy a more responsive and more powerful acceleration with reduced fuel consumption, while benefitting from the lowest annual license fee in Hong Kong with the new Qashqai Turbo.

Improved performance with greater efficiency

All-new Turbo engine

The Qashqai Turbo is equipped with the all-new Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance's 1.3-litre new engine, delivering maximum power of 160PS and torque of up to 27.5kgm. This equals an 11.1% and 34.9% increase respectively comparing to the previous 2-litre natural aspirated engine model.

The turbocharger is now equipped with a motor-driven recirculating safety valve (a so-called 'e-waste gate'). This replaces pneumatic valves in older engines. It means the turbo is more responsive, particularly at low engine speeds. This waste gate allows for optimum engine mapping without affecting drivability.

Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)

The all-new DCT wet-clutch system delivers a refined driving experience. It features electrical on-demand cooling and electro-mechanic gear actuation to improve efficiency. The system provides clear benefits to customers compared to the outgoing CVT transmission on the Qashqai. The driver experiences an immediate gear shift with no power interruptions, while the absence of a torque converter creates a more direct driving feeling – making it more fun to drive.

Drives with Nissan Intelligent Mobility

The Qashqai Turbo is also packed with various Nissan Intelligent Mobility features that further enhance driving experience and create a safe ride.

• Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB) monitors the surrounding area in front of the car, helping to avoid or reduce damage caused by collisions.

• Intelligent Around View Monitor (IAVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) provides a virtual bird's-eye view of the vehicle which allows the driver to quickly understand the vehicle and parking space orientation. If the cameras detect a moving object around the vehicle, either when the vehicle is stopped or when it starts moving, the system warns the driver with a display message and warning chime. 

• Intelligent Ride Control (IRC) take the rough with the smooth. This system applies subtle braking to help minimizing disturbance when encountering bumps and ensures a comfortably smooth ride.

• Lane Departure Warning (LDW) will send out an alert when detected lane drift out without indication.

• Intelligent Trace Control (ITC) automatically and smoothly applying small amounts of braking to individual wheels, the system corrects the vehicle trajectory to match the driver's commands, so the driver can maintain confidence while cornering.

Retail Price of the new Qashqai Turbo is HKD $286,800. Available in 13 colour options, including 4 Two-tone, featuring 2 new colours.
